Physician Associate Registration Assessment (PARA) - KBA & OSCE (January 2027)

To sit the PARA, you’ll need to provide your GMC reference number.
If you have a UK PA qualification awarded after July 2025, you should have already received an email from the GMC with your reference number. If you cannot locate this email please contact the GMC for assistance.
If you have a UK PA qualification awarded before July 2025 and you haven’t got a GMC reference number yet, you can create an account and generate a GMC reference number following these steps (answer no to on the MVR, yes to having a UK qualification, no to pass in PARA). Their system will then allow you to set up a GMC Online account and you’ll be given a GMC reference number, which you can then include in your PARA application.
If you have an international PA qualification and are new to UK practice, or were never a member of the FPA’s managed voluntary register, you will need to have had your international qualification assessed by the GMC and have received individual instruction from them that you are eligible to apply for the PARA, even if you have already been allocated a GMC reference number. Payment (KBA £325, OSCE £641, KBA & OSCE £966) must be made at the end of your application. If you require assistance with paying the examination fee, or your course provider is funding your application, please contact the RCP Assessment Unit via prior to submitting your application for further assistance
